Our Next Meetup will be at White Rock Lake Dog Park on Saturday the 15th of November, at 11:00 am. With Christmas coming in December, we won't try to meet again till 17th January 2009. So November 15th will be your last chance to ask questions and buy your tiny Yorkie a Christmas gift.
Our expert Yorkie breeder, and fellow meetup member, Kathi Grice, will be there to share her Yorkie dog care tips, grooming secrets, and dog psychology. Bring your questions, she'll have the answers!.
Kathi and Barbara have been sharing tons of items from "York Minister Design", their yorkie web site, that we were have been able to purchase. [Their stuff is so great, it's "small" or "extra small". Perfect for Yorkies.] Kathi and Barbara plan on having: brushes, toys, pet mats, clothing, holiday bows, pet beds, belly bands, puppy bassinets etc. available for us to buy. And they are priced very reasonably, much cheaper than items of the same quality at pet stores. Thumper, my Yorkie, has already started her Christmas Wish List!
Bring a chair for your yourself if possible, we found blankets don't work; and finding a picnic table in the shade is impossible. Come for your Yorkie, or come for the chit chat, but please just come!
White Rock Lake Dog Park is located at:

(where Mockingbird crosses over White Rock Lake)
The City of Dallas locks the dog park if it has been raining. So if it rains Saturday, or late Friday, the park will probably be closed. Check this web site.
Your Yorkie must have their current vaccinations, including Bordetella booster for the safety of all.
A bit of information about White Rock Lake Dog Park . . .
The city of Dallas has provided dog lovers with three spacious grassy areas, fenced separately and somewhat shaded for their dogs.
1. One area is for small dogs (under 30 lbs.)
2. One area is for large dogs (over 30 lbs.)
3. One area is for dogs of all sizes to swim in the lake.
We meet in the small dog section (dogs under 30 lbs.) At past Meetups, we have been able to meet under shade trees, in a corner of this section; a few other dogs come to visit and smell around, but basically leave our Yorkie group alone.

We didn't even have a drawing this time, and Kathi didn't try to setup her Yorkie and do a talk. The strong wind was all we could think and talk about.
